What about cutting wet grass?

Recharge Ultralite Push Mower FAQ's

What assembly is required?
Actually, the unit is fully assembled but the handles have been folded down for shipping. So, you would simply need to raise the 2 part handles.. first secure the bottom handle by snapping the locks into place .. then easily secure the top handle section by tightening the knobs. At this time – position the grass catcher, which comes fully assembled, into position. Position the battery, once you have it fully charged, and insert the safety key. Now, you are ready to go! Overall, beyond charging the battery, this should take you no more than 5 minutes.

Why does the Ultralite™ weigh only 35 lbs?
The weight is actually a result of the custom rust resistant moulded body and the ultra-lightweight lithium battery pack. The overall unit including battery weighs only 35 pounds.

How long to charge the battery?
The lithium battery pack can be charged in 4-5 hours. Since the battery is lithium, you can actually achieve a large portion of the charge in half the time while the completion to maximum power level will take the remaining time.

How many charges can the battery hold?
Unlike lead acid batteries which can be charged only 200-250 times, the Lithium Battery of the PMLI-14 can handle approximately 900 recharge cycles. That means you have the unit longer and reduce the amount of material entering landfills.

Why lithium?
Lithium batteries offer a host of benefits over other battery formats. Firstly, they do not have a memory and can be charged at virtually any point. They are far lighter than other batteries. Lithium batteries will provide you with consistent flow of power which means your blades will operate at FULL speed until the batteries are drained. Also, lithium batteries have many times more charge cycles so you will operate for many years without needing to replace them.

How long does the Ultralite™ run?
There is a huge difference between run time and cut time. Most manufacturers talk about run time and that simply means the amount of time the unit will operate when it is sitting on your driveway and not doing any work. The really important number is cut time. The Ultralite™ will cut for about 35 minutes. The lithium battery will provide a constant flow of power throughout the entire cut time and will not slowly fade like other batteries.

What about height adjustments?
The Ultralite™ has 6 pre designated height levels. One handle controls the adjustment of all 4 wheels at a time. The height ranges from approximately 1” to 3”.

How do I charge the battery?
The lithium battery weighs only 4 pounds and can be charged 2 ways. You can choose to charge the battery while it is still in the mower OR you can easily remove the battery and charge in a convenient indoor location.

What about battery storage?
Lithium batteries, unlike others, have very minor power loss over sustained periods of non-use or storage. We suggest you fully charge the battery prior to storing it the winter, this way you will find that the battery has maintained its charge for when you are ready to use it again in the spring.

Can I get extra batteries?
Yes. Additional batteries are available for purchase through our website at www.rechargemower.com or through a selection of our online partners.(Part# LI-14BATT)

How much grass does the catcher hold?
The grass catcher is designed to hold approximately 1.15 bushels (40 litres) of cut grass.

How do I convert the mower into a mulcher?
The Ultralite™ mower comes complete with a combination blade. To change to mulching from standard cut, you simply would remove the grass catcher and insert the mulching adaptor which easily slides into place. The rear cover is spring loaded and, without the grass catcher on the unit, will hold the mulching adaptor in place.

Where can I get extra blades?
Additional blades are available for purchase through our website at www.rechargemower.com or through a selection of our online partners. (Item# BLADE1)

How do I store the unit for the winter?
Since the Ultralite™ does not have any gas or oil to deal with, winter storage is very simple. In fact, you can easily collapse the handle and stand the unit on end or even hang it on the wall or put it on a shelving unit. Remove the battery and store it indoors to avoid freezing.

How does the Ultralite™ compare to other rechargeable mowers?
The first and biggest difference is the weight. Most other rechargeable mowers weigh at least 2 times if not 3 times more than the Lithium Powered Ultralite™. These other mowers are difficult to handle. Some have added a self-propel system which now uses more power and still makes it difficult to manoeuvre. The next thing is battery charging. The Ultralite™ battery can be lifted with 1 finger… weighing under 4 pounds. This can also be charged either in the mower or the battery removed and charged… the choice is yours. Other rechargeable mowers use heavy lead acid batteries that can weigh 30, 40 , 50 , 60 pounds or more. Many are NOT removable and can only be charged in the unit. While those that are removable are too heavy to handle.

How do I know the power level of the battery?
The battery of the Ultralite™ includes a built-in battery power level indicator. You simply depress the small button on the top panel of the battery which then activates a series of LEDs. Depending on the level of power, either 1 or 2 or 3 LEDs will light to advise of the power level remaining. The power level indicator is included in both original and available replacement batteries for the PMLI-14.
